Todd, Pulido Named Conference MVPs
Daryl Todd of Irvine Valley and Dianne Pulido of Orange Coast were selected the men’s and women’s most valuable players by a vote of the Orange Empire Conference basketball coaches.
Todd, a sophomore forward from Compton Dominguez High, was third in the conference in scoring with an average of 19.5 points and third in rebounds (8.6).
Jerry Hernandez of Irvine Valley, who led the Lasers to the conference title in only his second year, was selected coach of the year.

Willie Allen (Cypress), Duane Curtis (Orange Coast), Brandon Hearvey (Irvine Valley), Ray Jimmerson (Golden West), Brian Montonati (Fullerton), Aaron Owens (Riverside), Sterling Rachal (Fullerton), Michael Riggins (Saddleback), Lohnnie Tape (Rancho Santiago), and J.C. Timmons (Irvine Valley).

Pulido, a sophomore forward from Newport Harbor High, led the conference in scoring with a 20.1-point average. She also averaged 7.3 rebounds.
Lisa McNamee, who led Irvine Valley to the conference title in the second year of the program, was selected coach of the year.

Alison Carr (Irvine Valley), Heather Cunningham (El Dorado), Michelle deBruijn (Fullerton), Paola Flores (Fullerton), Pamela Loud (Irvine Valley), Holly Pawlowski (Cypress), Lori Pickering (Riverside), Linda Rodriguez (Cypress), Becky Salvertierra (Rancho Santiago) and Antionette Thompson (Rancho Santiago).
