Northridge Can’t Quite Overcome Northern Arizona
Cal State Northridge trailed by 21 points midway through the second half before beginning a furious comeback, only to lose, 76-74, as Northern Arizona clinched the Big Sky Conference regular-season championship Thursday night at Flagstaff, Ariz.
It was the sixth time this season the Matadors, 12-13 overall and 8-7 in the conference, have rallied from a double-digit second-half deficit only to lose a close game.
Lucky Grundy led the Matadors with 20 points, 13 in the second half. Andrew Mavis led Northern Arizona (20-5, 13-2) with 19 points.
