Steryo’s Hit Record is Moving Up the Charts
Rocky Steryo’s three-pointers have helped put Montclair Prep into tonight’s Division V-AA boys’ basketball quarterfinals. Now, his sharpshooting could land him in the Southern Section record books, as well.
Entering the game against Chadwick, Steryo, a junior, is averaging 22.6 points and has made 111 three-pointers this season. He is just tow long-range shots away from making the Southern Section top-10 list for a single season, although he is significantly behind the all-time leader, Chad Bickley of Santa Maria Valley Christian, who made 165 in 1994.
“It will be real nice if it happens,” Steryo said, “I’m more worried about winning right now. Besides there’s no way I’ll be able to catch Bickley.”
