Two of the best centers in the region will square off when the Buena High and Thousand Oaks girls’ basketball teams meet at 7:30 tonight in the a Southern Section Division I-A quarterfinal game at Thousand Oaks.
The key matchup features 6-foot-2 Nicole Greathouse of Buena (23-2), ranked No. 1 in the region by The Times, and 6-3 Jenn Detmer of 10th-ranked Thousand Oaks (20-6).
Greathouse, headed to UC Santa Barbara, averages 18.8 points, 11.7 rebounds, four steals and 2.5 blocks.
Detmer, who will attend Stanford on a volleyball scholarship, averages 20.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and two blocks.

College baseball: At 11 a.m.--Occidental College at Cal Lutheran (doubleheader). At noon, Rio Hondo at Antelope Valley (doubleheader). At 1 p.m., Cal State L.A. at Pepperdine, Canyons at Pierce, Oxnard at Santa Barbara, Glendale at Valley.
Men’s basketball: JC regional playoffs--At 7 p.m., Victor Valley at Valley, Glendale at Irvine Valley, Rio Hondo at Ventura, Trade Tech at Antelope Valley. At 7:30 p.m., UC Riverside at The Master’s.
College softball: At noon, Cal Lutheran at Whittier.
Men’s volleyball: At 7 p.m., Pasadena at Pierce.
Men’s tennis: At 9:30 a.m., Cal Lutheran at Whittier.
Women’s tennis: At 9:30 a.m., Whittier at Cal Lutheran. At 11 a.m., Utah at Pepperdine.
Girls’ basketball: Southern Section semifinals--At 6:30 p.m., Alemany vs. Ganesha at Pomona Garey High. At 7:30 p.m., San Dimas vs. Nordhoff at Buena High, Fillmore vs. Santa Ynez at Lompoc High, Paraclete vs. St. Bernard at El Segundo High. Southern Section quarterfinals, Oxnard at Simi Valley, Buena at Thousand Oaks, Cerritos at Crescenta Valley, San Bernardino at Moorpark, Flintridge Prep at Riverside Woodcrest Christian.
High school baseball: At 11 a.m., Saugus at Highland (doubleheader).
Wrestling: At 9:30 a.m., Southern Section Masters tournament at Fountain Valley High. At noon, City Section finals at Bell.
