Lila Gordon; Pacific Palisades Community Activist
Lila Gordon, 66, community activist concerned with parks and building design in Pacific Palisades. She served as president of the community’s Civic League from 1988 to 1993, helping to limit the size of so-called “monster homes.” She also served on Los Angeles City Councilman Marvin Braude’s task force on local parks and playing fields and chaired the Community Council. Tagging herself “the defender of Pacific Palisades,” she worked to preserve Los Liones as a state park, to acquire Temescal Canyon for a park and to obtain park development funds. In 1994 Gordon was chosen as Pacific Palisades citizen of the year. Professionally, she had operated a mobile book store, a real estate business and a car dealership. On Feb. 27 in Los Angeles.
