Pickler Misses an Important Trip
Cypress softball Coach Brad Pickler has driven his team all over California for tournaments this season. Cypress was in Merced recently, then last weekend won the Fresno tournament.
Cypress is 28-2, but Pickler’s wanderings did cause him to miss an important family moment Sunday when his daughter--Paige Ashley Pickler--took her first steps.
“Can you believe that,” Pickler said Sunday. “My wife just told me.”
Pickler will stay closer to home this week. Cypress (4-0 in conference) is at Riverside (15-5, 3-1) at 7 p.m. and at Fullerton (18-8, 4-0) at 3 p.m. Wednesday in a first-place showdown.

Swimming: The Orange Coast men’s and women’s swimming teams scored easy victories at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational last weekend.
The OCC women had 643 points and Palomar (443) was second. The men won with 630 points and Saddleback (508) was second.
Missing from the field was Golden West but the Rustlers will join the rest of the state’s top teams at the Cuesta Invitational.
