The second annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is coming on April 19 and 20 to the UCLA campus. Events are free to the public.
Among the more than 60 author events are the following: “Biography: Lives and Legends” with A. Scott Berg, Garry Wills and Marshall Frady; “Behind the Scenes on Broadway, Television and the Big Screen” with Frank Galati, John Gregory Dunne, Barbara Isenberg and Rob Long; “The Media-ization of the Classics” with Julia Barrett, Robin Swicord, John Gay and Felicity Nussbaum; and “Sportswriting as Literature” with Bill Dwyre, Roger Kahn, Joan Ryan and Jim Murray.
Also appearing will be authors including Alice Adams, Daniel Akst, Steve Allen, Hilton Als, Rudolfo Anaya, Graeme Base, David Beers, Gioconda Belli, John Berendt, Jon Boorstin, Ray Bradbury, Eve Bunting, Jan Burke, Stephen J. There will be a wide variety of programs by children’s authors, including April Wayland, Robin Rector Krupp and Christopher Nance, as well as publishers’ and booksellers’ booths and book signings.
