In Sunset League boys’ individual playoffs:

Los Alamitos advances in singles and doubles--Cody Jackson of Los Alamitos won in singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Ed Huang and Samir Vora, also of Los Alamitos, won in doubles, 6-1, 6-3, to advance to the finals scheduled for Monday at the Lindborg Racquet Club in Huntington Beach.

Tom Lloyd of Esperanza won the other singles semifinal, 6-1, 6-0, and will face Jackson in the finals.

In the Southern Section individual gymnastics championship:

Brea Olinda wins title--Brea Olinda won the Southern Section gymnastics championship for the second consecutive year at Los Angeles Marlborough High.

The Wildcats finished with 173.6 points, followed by Downey Warren (164.45) and Palos Verdes Peninsula (164.1).

Brea Olinda’s Tennli Ulicny placed first in floor exercise (9.45), second in the vault (9.15) and third in the all-around (36.05). Teammate Genna Chapluk was third on the beam and fourth in the all-around.

Jamie Moody of Long Beach Millikan won the all-around (37.5) with first-place finishes in the vault (9.6) and beam (9.7), a second on the bars (9.0), and a third in floor exercise (9.2).
