Cuban Fair Celebrates Music, Food, Traditions
More than 25,000 people are expected at Echo Park on Sunday for the third annual Los Angeles Cuban Cultural Festival, a daylong celebration of Cuban music, art and food.
Sponsored by the city’s Cultural Affairs Department and the Patronato Jose Marti, the celebration is the central event in a two-month-long festival featuring Cuban culture and life.
Sunday’s activities will be held in Plaza Jose Marti, the site of the bust of the revered Cuban patriot. Events include Cuban music and dance, literature, a book mart, cigar-rolling demonstrations, a domino competition and children’s activities throughout the day.
Organizers said they hope the event will encourage more people, especially the younger generation of Cuban Americans, to learn more about their heritage.
