*** Lori Carson, “Everything I Touch Runs Wild,” Restless.
Sultry, smooth, intoxicating and disturbed, this album is all about life’s loves and losses, from the haunting hunger of “Something’s Got Me” to the spare disgust of “Whole Heart.” Carson is a singer-songwriter whose voice seems to float on a high wire, and she spins a beautiful web of sound by capturing the music’s negative spaces. Most of her short-story songs are understated seductions.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
