Naveda Hat Trick Sinks MetroStars

FOXBORO, Mass. — Alberto Naveda scored the first hat trick in New England Revolution history Friday night as the Revolution defeated the New York-New Jersey MetroStars, 3-1, in front of 15,489 at Foxboro Stadium.
The victory moves the Revolution (7-4) ahead of Columbus and into second place in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference.
The Argentine forward’s goals came in the 57th, 71st and 90th minutes, the last on a 40-yard solo run. Giovanni Savarese scored for the MetroStars (5-7) in the 31st minute.
