Hockeytown Fans Tell Bad Jokes, Duck Fans Live One
If the Detroit Red Wings win the Stanley Cup with their Russian fleet of Kozlov, Larionov, Fetisov, Konstantinov and Fedorov, will that make Coach Scotty Bowman the Wizard of “Ovs”?

Which character from “The Wizard of Oz” has the greatest similarity to Tony Tavares of the Mighty Ducks?
A. The Scarecrow? (No brains.)
B. The Tin Woodsman? (No heart.)
C. The Cowardly Lion? (No guts to show up at the news conference announcing Ron Wilson’s termination.)
D. Dorothy? (Go home!)
E. The Wicked Witch of the West? (Throw a bucket of water at him, and be sure to throw the bucket.)
F. The Flying Monkey? (Weird-looking goon that never smiles.)
Still, one has to wonder if philosophical differences were the reason for the split, why didn’t Tavares leave?

It was a good idea for the Mighty Ducks to get rid of Ron Wilson. What was he thinking, giving the majority of the playing time to Paul Kariya (99 points) and Teemu Selanne (109 points)? All they do is win games!
Tradition is such a strong thing here in Anaheim, and the tradition of losing was broken. Obviously Wilson hadn’t paid attention to the Rams and the Angels of the past, always dedicated to bringing fans what they expect.
What Jack Ferreira and Tony Tavares need to do is put Barry Melrose at the helm. Then, tradition will return to the city of Anaheim.
