The Washington Capitals met with Larry Pleau, the New York Rangers’ vice president of player personnel, about the team’s vacant general manager’s job.
The Capitals also have met with current Coach Jim Schoenfeld, who was given permission to interview for the Buffalo Sabres’ general manager’s job; former Mighty Duck coach Ron Wilson; and Cliff Fletcher, former Toronto Maple Leaf president and general manager.
Toronto replaced Fletcher as the team’s president Friday by hiring former Montreal Canadien goaltending great Ken Dryden.
