Athletic Programs
Kudos to Cal State Northridge President Blenda Wilson for having the courage to cut athletic programs (“Cal State Northridge Drops 4 Men’s Sports,” June 12). Too often athletics are put before academics. The CSUs cannot afford to be competitive in athletics--especially when the program only serves a small percentage of students. The money would be better spent hiring more professors for impacted programs so that students could graduate in four years.
