Soka to Offer Course in Korean Language
In response to community requests, Soka University of America has expanded its foreign language curriculum this fall to include Korean, college officials said.
The introductory, non-credit course, offered for the first time at the university, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays for 15 weeks beginning Sept. 2.
School officials said the university’s language courses focus not only on the basics of the language but the cultural aspects as well. They use authentic dialogue to explore current affairs, tradition, art and education.
Soka also will continue offering classes in Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish this semester.
All language classes are held at the university’s Calabasas campus, 26800 W. Mulholland Highway.
Enrollment is $150, plus textbooks, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent. For more information, call (818) 878-3775.
