Wetzel’s Late Goal Lifts the Bullfrogs
Todd Wetzel’s goal with 24 seconds left in the game gave the Bullfrogs a 9-8 victory over the Sacramento River Rats in a Roller Hockey International game Saturday in Sacramento.
The victory wasn’t enough to lift Anaheim into first place, as San Jose defeated the Blades, 5-4, to give the Rhinos the Western Conference title.
Sacramento (6-16-2) rallied from an 8-5 deficit in the fourth quarter.
Anaheim’s first playoff opponent will not be decided until today. If St. Louis wins its game today, it will move into third place and open the playoffs against Anaheim. If St. Louis loses, Anaheim (15-9) will play the Blades.
