Bullfrogs to Open Playoffs Against Blades
The Bullfrogs will open the Roller Hockey International playoffs against the Blades at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Forum.
The Blades are winless in their last five games. The Bullfrogs have won seven in a row. The teams split their six-game series, with all three Bullfrog victories coming in shootouts.
The Bullfrogs (15-8-0) finished two points behind first-place San Jose (15-7-2) in the Western Conference. The Blades (11-8-5) were third. St. Louis (12-10-2) finished fourth.
The second game of the series will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Pond. If the series is tied, a 12-minute game will take place after the second game to determine which team advances to the Western Conference final against San Jose or St. Louis.

The Orange County Batbusters softball team defeated Gordon’s Panthers of La Palma in the championship game of the ASA 18-and-under Gold championship Sunday in Oklahoma City.
It was the second title in three years for the Batbusters. Gordon’s Panthers were the defending champions.
In the 18-and-under A division in Tulsa, Okla., the Batbusters lost the title game to the Nashville Eagles, 7-3. Mater Dei’s Monica Lucatero hit two home runs in the loss.

John Lepak of La Habra shot a third-round 71, one-under par, and trails by 14 strokes in the 29th Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic in Pueblo, Colo.
Lepak also had rounds of 76 and 72 and is at 219. David Gossett of Germantown, Tenn., leads the tournament at 205. Gossett has rounds of 72, 66 and 67.
Ronald Won of Irvine shot 71 Monday and is at 221.
