Victim of Deadly Drive-By Shooting Is Identified
Authorities on Wednesday identified a man who was fatally shot in a drive-by assault in the Oakwood area of Venice.
Porfirio Hernandez, 20, died at UCLA Medical Center shortly after Tuesday’s 6:25 p.m. shooting in the 600 block of 6th Avenue, said Det. Pete Waack of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division.
Waack said Hernandez was preparing to work on a car when several shots were fired from a burgundy-colored car. The suspects, two Latino men in their 20s, also fired at Hernandez’s friend, who escaped injury, Waack said.
Anyone with more information on the attack is asked to call detectives at (310) 202-4506.
