She is a 17-year-old Arcadia resident attending Westridge School, where she is co-captain of the varsity tennis team and a member of the Latin Club and the Unity Club. The senior honors student is also an activist for AIDS prevention and racial tolerance. She looks forward to studying psychology at Columbia University and hopes for a career in child psychology.
Grand Marshal:
Carol Burnett, television comic, stage actress and imitator of the Tarzan yelp, is the grand marshal of this year’s parade. In keeping with the parade’s theme, “Hav’n Fun,” Burnett has spent much of her life entertaining and reminding us of life’s lighthearted moments. She joins a group of past grand marshals that includes Frank Sinatra, John Wayne and Kermit the Frog. Seven women have previously marshalled the parade, including Mary Pickford, Dale Evans and Shirley Temple Black.
