Guides to Airport
Having just moved to Los Angeles, I am not familiar with routes to Burbank Airport. On Christmas Eve it was necessary to drive my daughter there. I knew a quick way, or so I thought. Continuing north on Lankershim Boulevard, the mountains seemed rather close and Jennifer said, “Mom, are you sure this is the way?”
It did seem rather strange that no planes were above, but to my wondrous surprise, who should appear? A black-and-white car with LAPD written on the rear. I honked and rolled down my window and asked directions. They started to tell me and then beckoned that I should pull over. An officer, in shorts (this is L.A. and the sun is out), said that the directions were too complicated, “Just follow us.” They proceeded to lead us all the way to the front of the airport!
Now, I ask you, where would one find that kind of treatment from the police in such a large metropolitan city? Just wanted to thank them.
