Koran Torn by Israeli Army, Arabs Charge

Palestinians said they found torn copies of the Islamic holy book, the Koran, in a school they charged was ransacked by Israeli soldiers in the strife-torn city of Hebron. Israeli television broadcast pictures of a room in a girls school in which furniture had been overturned and several copies of the Koran with some pages falling out or ripped were scattered on the floor. An Israeli officer denied the charges after touring the school with his Palestinian counterpart.
