Rangsiyawong Sends West Past Encino
Ismael Rangsiyawong’s two-run single capped a four-run seventh inning that gave North Hollywood West (19-5) a 4-3 victory over Encino in a District 20 game Saturday at Valley College.
Mike Jackson had 14 strikeouts for Encino (16-8).
In a later game, North Hollywood West lost to Burbank North, 4-3.
Panorama City 8, Valley North 7--Evan Lovett’s sacrifice fly scored John Ennis in the seventh of a District 20 game at Alemany High.
Sergio Franco got Panorama City (18-6) even with his second home run of the game earlier in the inning.
Woodland Hills East 10, Sunland-Tujunga 0--Travis Rutter (5-2) allowed no hits over five innings, striking out nine, for Woodland Hills East (19-6) in a District 20 game at Tujunga Little League field.
Granada Hills East 4, Granada Hills West 2--Manny Bernal had two hits for Granada Hills East and Dan Frisbee had two hits for Granada Hills West (7-17) in a game at Granada Hills High.
Verdugo Hills 12, Saugus 4--Phil Onsaga had two home runs and four RBIs for Verdugo Hills (8-11) in a District 20 game at Saugus High.
Newbury Park 2-3, Ventura 0-14--Jared Edrosoian drove in both runs with a sixth-inning double for Newbury Park in the first game of a District 16 doubleheader at Ventura High. Jason Branch struck out 10 for Ventura in the opener.
Westlake 3-0, Royal 2-15--Brian D’Anna (4-1-1) allowed two hits over five innings, striking out six, and Brett Wayne added three doubles and five RBIs for Royal (15-4) in the second game of a District 16 doubleheader at Royal.
