Suspected Car Vandal Toting Bat Is Arrested
Police arrested a Santa Paula man over the weekend after he threatened two officers with a baseball bat, authorities said.
Officers responded to a call of vehicle vandalism near the intersection of High and Sycamore streets shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday when the suspected vandal, 39-year-old Mark Osuna, approached officers with a baseball bat. Police arrested Osuna after a short struggle, during which he was squirted with pepper spray. No injuries were reported.
Osuna is being held in Ventura County Jail on $20,000 bail. He is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday in Ventura County Superior Court.
