VENTURA — A man was in custody Friday after a chase by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies that began on California 33.
The pursuit began when the driver made an illegal U-turn on the highway at about 7:20 p.m., said Sheriff’s Sgt. Will Hammer.
The man was arrested on suspicion of making an illegal U-turn and failing to pull over for police in pursuit, Hammer said. His name was unavailable.
The chase lasted about seven minutes and ended when the driver pulled over in the southbound lane of the Ventura Freeway, just south of California Avenue.
