Worker Injured After Falling Into Shaft
A worker at a downtown Los Angeles construction site was injured Tuesday when he fell about 25 feet into an excavation shaft, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 8:45 a.m. at 400 W. 9th St., said Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells. The injured man, identified by police as Ignacio Gladamas, reportedly was preparing the outside of the building for plastering when he fell.
Initially reported in critical condition, Gladamas, who is in his 20s, was listed in stable condition at a hospital, police said.
