Holiday Warning
‘Tis becoming the season of . . . scams. Councilwoman Laura Chick, chairwoman of the City Council’s Public Safety Committee, warns that fraudulent fund-raisers, often claiming to represent police and fire departments, try to dupe consumers during the holiday season. The Los Angeles police and fire departments, she says, do not do phone solicitation.
* EPIC PLAY: “Millennium Approaches,” the first part of Tony Kushner’s award-winning two-part epic, “Angels in America,” can be seen this month at Cal State Northridge’s Campus Theater.
