A Recycling Option for the Christmas Season

One tree alternative comes from Ikea Home Furnishings, where you can rent a Christmas tree.

From Dec. 4-7, the store will rent a Douglas fir for $20. Then on Jan. 10 or 11, you return the tree to Ikea, which will give you $10 back.

Every returned tree is turned into mulch, and for each returned tree, Ikea and the National Arbor Day Foundation will plant a new tree in the local community.

Ikea has stores in Burbank, Carson, Tustin and the city of Industry.
