Driver Hurt in I-405 Offramp Shooting
COSTA MESA — A man was cut by broken glass when someone fired at his car on a San Diego Freeway offramp Wednesday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.
About 11:15 a.m., the man, whose name was not available, pulled off the northbound lanes of the freeway at the Harbor Boulevard offramp, Officer Bruce Mauldin said. Another vehicle pulled alongside, and an occupant fired two shots, shattering the rear and side windows, Mauldin said.
The victim was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center for treatment of glass cuts to his head, Mauldin said. The CHP is investigating.
