La Jolla-based Jenny Craig Inc. said Joseph La Bonte, president and chief executive, has resigned to pursue other business interests, after serving in the positions since April 1994. Jenny Craig, which has about 800 weight-loss centers, said Sid Craig, chairman and co-founder, was elected by the board to be chief executive. Jenny Craig, vice chairman and founder, will be president. . . . A Superior Court judge in San Francisco ruled that a suit alleging that San Francisco-based BankAmerica Corp. cheated state and local governments can proceed, but in a more limited form. BankAmerica was sued in May by California and municipalities such as San Francisco over claims the bank cheated them out of hundreds of millions of dollars by mishandling their bond fund trust accounts. . . . Insync Systems Inc., a Milpitas-based provider of products and services to semiconductor equipment makers, plans to raise as much as $39 million in an initial public offering.
