Council to Discuss Search for New Administrator
Moving quickly to find a replacement for its outgoing city administrator, the City Council will hold a meeting Monday to interview and possibly select a firm that would recruit candidates.
“There is a sense of urgency,” Mayor Ralph H. Bauer said. “We want to have whomever on board as soon as possible.”
Council members will interview four search firms from throughout the state during the 2:30 p.m. meeting in the Civic Center’s main conference room, 2000 Main St.
Michael T. Uberuaga, 52, announced earlier this month that he will step down Nov. 1, after eight years of service, to take a similar position in San Diego.
Ray Silver, assistant city administrator, will take over temporarily until a permanent selection is made.
