City Reconsiders Releaguing
The City Section Interscholastic Athletic Committee voted Monday to reestablish a subcommittee to consider releaguing.
The IAC last month voted down a proposal to abandon its existing conference format. Commissioner Barbara Fiege said the main complaint was the grouping of teams for the proposed new leagues. Fiege said it was unlikely changes would be made in time for the 1998-99 season.
Fiege said IAC endorsed the state proposal to initiate bowl games in football but opposed the proposal to have three-member official crews for basketball playoffs.
The CIF State Federated Council will vote on having football bowl games at a meeting on Friday.
