Driver Killed After Losing Control of Truck on Bridge
A truck driver was killed early Thursday when he lost control of his tractor-trailer at the south end of the Vincent Thomas Bridge while trying to exit at the Anaheim Avenue offramp, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The 23-year-old Los Angeles man, whose name was being withheld until his family was notified, was thrown out of the driver’s side window, said Officer John Tye. He said the truck continued moving until it ran into a nearby embankment. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Tye said the incident is under investigation. He said authorities speculate that the truck was moving too fast to safely make the turn to the exit.
