Ferreira Favors the Pause Button
General Manager Jack Ferreira has a solution for the increased reliance on video replay to decide disputed goals.
“This is my opinion, but I’d like to see no replays,” Ferreira said. “Two referees are what’s needed. If you have two refs, the guy down low [near the net] has the responsibility to see who’s in the crease.”
Ferreira called the video replay “a crutch” for on-ice officials.
“They go upstairs [to the video replay judge] so many times because they don’t want to be wrong,” he said. “If you have two refs, that’s all he has to worry about.
The Ducks put defenseman Bobby Dollas, who suffered a slashed tendon in his left forearm in Tuesday’s 2-2 tie against Toronto, on the injured reserve list.
