Exhibit Opening to Be Featured on Web
When two contemporary Spanish artists are honored Sunday afternoon during an exhibition opening at USC, their families and friends back home in Valencia will be able to view the reception on their computers, thanks to what is being billed as the world’s first Web broadcast of an art gallery opening.
The Web broadcast of works by sculptors Miquel Navarro and Carmen Calvo at the Fisher Gallery on the USC campus will feature the reception, the artworks and interviews with artists and other guests.
“The Fisher Gallery staff is proud to play a part in USC’s innovations in multimedia and creative technologies,” said Jennifer Jaskowiak, curator of the exhibition. “The Webcast will enable people around the globe to participate in the reception.”
Real/Video, free software that will enable computer users to access the 4 p.m. broadcast, can be downloaded from Progressive Networks--www.real.com/products/player/playerdl.html
