Thank You, Dodgers, and Thank You, Bud
Earlier in the season, some people complained about the lack of African American players on the Dodgers’ major league roster, while celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s entry into the history books. In recent weeks, the Dodgers have made four trades and signings to bolster their team as they head for the pennant. All four players are African American, and nobody has said anything about it.
Isn’t that the way it should be?

On behalf of Dodger fans everywhere, I would like to thank interim Commissioner Bud Selig for cutting the usual six late-season games with the Giants to a much more reasonable two games. Instead of having to suffer through all of those exhausting games with the nasty Giants, I can enjoy the much more relaxing exhibition-style games against exciting Dodger rivals such as Oakland and Texas.
Hopefully, realignment will allow us to do this every year--and with designated hitters!
