A Big Thank You for Donations
* Too often a newspaper prints an item and never knows who reads it or what impact it may have on someone’s life.
On Aug. 1, reporter John Canalis wrote a short piece about the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center’s need for school supplies for neglected and abused children.
The response was extraordinary. Your readers flooded our collection sites with donations. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to provide supplies to more than 300 needy youngsters.
Our only regret is that many of your readers chose to give anonymously and, therefore, we have no way of properly thanking them. Please help us acknowledge our appreciation to your staff and readers for caring about the county’s often forgotten children.
