Indian Dancer Prakash Headlines Fund-Raiser
Fifteen-year-old classical Indian dancer Mythili Prakash will portray Draupadi, the queen from the “Mahabharata” epic, in “From the Fire . . . Maya Sita,” a benefit for the International House of Blues Foundation.
The performance takes place Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Torrance Performing Arts Center, 3300 Civic Center Drive, Torrance.
The foundation runs an outreach program that promotes racial harmony among youths in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Foundation events take place at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.
Admission to Sunday’s performance is $15, with VIP seats for $25, $50 and $100.
