An opening date of Oct. 19 has been set for the much-heralded Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Bilbao, Spain, designed by Los Angeles architect Frank O. Gehry. The inaugural exhibition offers more than 300 modern and contemporary artworks. The museum will be closed Mondays, with varying hours on the other days. Admission is $4. . . . The 10th annual Catalina Jazz Trax Festival gets underway next Friday, Saturday and Sunday and continues Oct. 10 and 11 at the Casino Ballroom in Avalon. Tickets start at $20 per session.
