Mikels Announces Bid for Reelection
Ventura County Supervisor Judy Mikels announced Monday that she will seek a second, four-year term on the Board of Supervisors in the 1998 election.
Mikels, 52, is a former Simi Valley city councilwoman and planning commissioner who won election to the county board in 1994.
If reelected to the 4th District seat, Mikels would represent Simi Valley, Moorpark and surrounding unincorporated areas through 2002.
“Nothing has changed my mind about wanting to do this job,” Mikels said in a statement announcing her reelection campaign.
The supervisor said she has led efforts to support and improve public safety and the county economy.
Mikels said she has the endorsements of Sheriff Larry Carpenter, Dist. Atty. Michael D. Bradbury, Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Bob Brooks, Simi Valley Mayor Greg Stratton and former Supervisor Vicky Howard.
