Diaz Replaces Kimberly as Esperanza Coach
Doug Kimberly, Esperanza’s water polo coach for 11 seasons, resigned at the beginning of the school year to become an assistant principal at Brea Olinda.
Galen Diaz, Kimberly’s assistant for his entire tenure at Esperanza, has taken over the team. Kimberly said he is still helping with the team occasionally to ease the transition.
Kimberly built one of Orange County’s most consistent programs at Esperanza, winning four league titles and Southern Section championships in 1992 and 1994.
