Strickland Has 42 Kills in Matador Victory
Chad Strickland of Cal State Northridge had 42 kills, eight blocks and seven digs to lead the Matadors to a 15-7, 12-15, 16-14, 12-15, 15-13 victory over Loyola Marymount in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball match Wednesday night at Gersten Pavilion.
Strickland had a .486 hitting percentage for Northridge (9-12, 5-11), which hit .409 as a team and .510 in the third game.
Mark Lee had 18 kills, nine digs and four blocks for the Matadors, and Adam Black had 17 kills and four blocks.
Junior Mosones had 13 kills and 10 digs for Northridge and John Baxter had 87 assists for the Matadors, who had 17 team blocks to Loyola Marymount’s 12.
Corin Bemus had 30 kills, seven digs and seven blocks for the Lions (7-9, 7-8), and Jason Lee added 21 kills and 10 digs.
Stephen Dunne had 92 assists for Loyola Marymount.
