PASSOVER SEDERS: Kol Tikvah will host its annual Second Night Seder with a traditional Passover dinner at 6 tonight at the temple’s social hall, 20400 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills. Information: (818) 348-0670.

The Moses Program at Temple Beth Hillel will hold a special Seder for Jews with disabilities at 6 p.m. Sunday at 12326 Riverside Drive, Valley Village. Rabbi Jim Kaufman leads a service that recounts the story of the Jews’ exodus from slavery in Egypt, and includes traditional Passover hymns. Information: (818) 763-9148.

TORAH BREASTPLATE DEDICATION: West Valley’s Congregation Or Ami will dedicate its first Torah breastplate--which includes a fragment of a breastplate that was recovered in 1938 from a German temple the Nazis destroyed--at a 7:30 p.m. celebration Friday at Bay Laurel Elementary School, 27470 Paseo Primario, Calabasas. The remnant was once part of an elaborate silver breastplate that decorated a Torah in the German Meppen Synagogue, established in the 1600s. Ernest Cohen, father of Or Ami congregant Olivia Cohen-Cutler, found the fragment in the ashen remains of the temple after its Nazi-ordered destruction. He smuggled it out of Germany after he escaped from a concentration camp. Information: (818) 880-6818.

JEWISH WIT AND WISDOM: Rabbi Mark Sobel of Temple Beth Emet will lead a weekly class on “Wit and Wisdom in Judaism--The Classical Period” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the temple, 600 N.
