Cornelison Lifts Saugus Past Hoover

Kelly Cornelison had four hits and drove in two runs to lead Saugus High over host Hoover, 6-1, in a nonleague softball game.

Julie Watson had two hits for Saugus (7-4), and junior right-hander Stephanie Blaire struck out five and allowed three hits.

Avalon d. Viewpoint, 15-10, 14-16, 15-12, 15-3--Dan Roy had 32 kills and seven blocks, and Kasey Esparza had 26 assists for Viewpoint (5-2, 2-2) in a Liberty League match at Viewpoint.
