Teen Loggers Found Slain in Forest
Five teenagers who were logging illegally east of Mexico City were found dead in the forest, tortured and shot in the back of the head, newspapers reported. The top prosecutor in Morelos state said some local and federal police officers may have been involved in the crimes and pledged to investigate them fully, the government news agency Notimex reported. A sixth teen who had been logging with the others saw the assault and told a newspaper that the attackers wore dark uniforms and ski masks. Four Morelos state police and two federal investigative police stationed near the area where the bodies were found have not reported for work since the killings.
