Page Likes All Postseason Play
Playing in the World Championships is perhaps the last thing on a player’s mind after a difficult NHL regular season, but Duck Coach Pierre Page believes it’s worth the trip.
Finnish hockey officials continue to phone Teemu Selanne, but he’s not sure what to say. It has been a long, difficult, season what with an Olympics tossed into the mix.
Canadian officials would be wise to contact defenseman Jason Marshall, according to Page. The same goes for U.S. officials and Ted Drury and for Czech Republic officials and Josef Marha.
“I’ve always told players, ‘You’re supposed to play until mid-June [when the Stanley Cup finals are scheduled],’ ” Page said. “I would just call that your playoffs. You want as much playoff experience.”
The World Championships will be held in May in Switzerland.

Page did not hesitate to play rookie defenseman Mike Crowley in all manner of situations Monday against the Colorado Avalanche.
Crowley had 12 goals and 38 points in 76 games with Cincinnati of the American Hockey League this season.
