Alcohol Permit to Be Required at Parks
Whether it’s a beer for breakfast or a brew with an afternoon barbecue, drinking alcohol will soon be illegal in Ojai’s Sarzotti and Daly parks without a permit.
The City Council approved the ordinance earlier this week.
“We’ve had a few problems with groups of people gathering at the parks to drink,” said City Manager Andy Belknap.
People who want to serve alcohol during such events as a softball tournament in the park will be required to apply for a free permit, he said.
Alcohol is banned completely in Libbey Park.
