Marina’s Nakase Commits to UCLA
Natalie Nakase, The Times Orange County girls’ basketball player of the year, has signed a letter of intent to play at UCLA, Marina Coach Pete Bonny said.
Nakase, a 5-foot-1 point guard, led Marina (28-5) to its first Southern Section Division I-A title. She averaged 13.9 points and 8.6 assists.

Chelsea Rowlands, a senior two-meter water polo player at Capistrano Valley, signed a letter of intent to attend Long Beach State, said her coach, Craig Fransen.
Rowlands was a first-team all-Southern Section player as a junior and a second-team player as a senior. She also was a first-team All-South Coast League pick as a junior and senior.
