ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Microsemi Corp.: The Santa Ana semiconductor company said net income for the second fiscal quarter increased 42%, to $3.4 million, or 29 cents a share, from $2.4 million, or 23 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended March 29 rose 1%, to $41.2 million from $40.7 million. Net income for the first six months of fiscal 1998 totaled $6.5 million, or 58 cents a share, a 51% increase from $4.3 million, or 41 cents a share, for the first half of fiscal 1997. Revenue advanced 12%, to $85.2 million from $76.4 million.
