Dog Park Supporters Pick 3 Possible Sites on Coast
A group of canine lovers has picked three sites along the coast for a potential off-leash dog park in San Pedro.
The group is consulting with the office of Los Angeles Councilman Rudy Svorinich Jr., who represents the harbor area, and with Freeplay, an organization that successfully lobbied to create an off-leash dog park in Venice.
Kimberley Foley, who is drawing up the proposal for the park, said an off-leash area is long overdue in San Pedro but refused to identify the potential sites until she finished the document.
“Now people have to go to Redondo [Beach] or Long Beach,” she said.
A spokesman for Svornich said the park would have to be self-funded and maintained.
