Workshop to Focus on Housing Projects
The Ventura Planning Commission will examine an array of proposed large-scale residential projects at a special two-day public workshop beginning tonight.
The housing projects--ranging from the 530-home Walker/Hearne Ranch development in Ventura to 118 homes near Saticoy--will be open to public comment. The hearing is a precursor to final decisions on whether the projects will receive city building allocations.
The Planning Commission will not make any final recommendations, but the testimony will be included in later commission reviews of the projects. Representatives of several other large-scale housing projects will present their cases during a second day of hearings Thursday.
Among those projects is a 180 mobile-home site planned near Copland Drive and Telegraph Road. The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room at City Hall, 501 Poli St.
